Sir Herbert Leon Academy is an 11-19 Mixed Comprehensive in Bletchley, South Milton Keynes. Our Academy has some 670 learners and employs 105 dedicated teachers and support staff. Learners at the academy are supported to be highly ambitious, to develop a genuine enthusiasm for learning and to be proud to represent their Academy and community. Along with providing a rich, diverse and challenging curriculum at KS3 and 4, the Academy also boasts a thriving Post 16 which is run with curriculum links with Lord Grey School.
The Academy boasts some wonderful learning facilities, particularly in Sport and the Arts. There is a new library, a theatre/cinema and an abundance of ICT teaching technology available in every learning environment. The ratio of computers to students is better than 1:2. In addition to this, the school has a swimming pool and a fully equipped fitness suite. The Academy has both Arts Mark and Sports Mark Gold (recently reaccredited) and it is three times Investor in People. This excellent breath of resources is impacting on performance where exam results are improving year on year. Our dramatic academic progress reflects our ever improving teaching and learning together with upward trends in attendance and behaviour.
Our website covers three separate areas of business: the Leisure Centre, the Arts/Media Centre (both open to the community) and the main Academy.
Once again, welcome to Sir Herbert Leon Academy. We are very excited and optimistic about our future. We know our strengths – a focus on the quality of teaching and the progress of all students, an innovative curriculum and visionary leadership – and we are working tirelessly to keep on raising results in the years to come.
