Entry to Employment Tutor, based in Southampton. Our client, a Further Education College is looking to recruit a Entry to Employment Tutor to develop and deliver in-house training, meeting the requirements of the e2e Core Curriculum and Foundation Learning, to learners aged 16 to 19 years experiencing barriers to learning.

Description of duties
Reporting to the e2e Team Leader, main duties:
* To work with young people from a wide range of ability levels and social and cultural backgrounds, to develop and deliver training and development in vocational awareness, basic and functional skills and personal and social skills and to monitor and assess learners' progress in these areas.
* To negotiate individual learning aims and monitor and review all aspects of the learners' in-house e2e and Foundation Learning programmes, track and record achievements, set challenging targets and conduct on-going assessments to identify further training needs.
* To plan activities, H&S awareness, visits and other experiences that will help develop the skills, knowledge and self-esteem that learners will require in their adult working life.
* To maintain appropriate learners' records and standards in line with current LSC, City Training and City College quality systems and carry out actions as indicated from quality audits
* To achieve specified results each year relating to the retention and achievement of learners on the e2e and Foundation Learning Programmes and their parity of achievement irrespective of gender, ethnicity and disability.
* To liaise with Training Consultants and other staff to ensure that Learners receive a seamless programme of training and development.
* Ensure all performance targets are met and maximised, including achieving contractual, learner and budget targets
* Implement Southampton City Training's disciplinary and grievance rules and procedures as required.
Experience / Qualifications
Successful candidates will have the following knowledge, experience/specialist skills:
* Level 2 qualification in Numeracy and Literacy
* Proven experience of training or working with young people 16 -19 (24) years with barriers to learning.
* Understanding of the requirements of learners with support needs.
* Proven ability of the development, research and updating of a range of learning resources.
* Experience of motivating, developing and maintaining high levels of learner retention and achievement.
* Evidence of developing and maintaining efficient tracking and recording systems
* Skills to organise day- to -day training activities that are varied and stimulating to meet with the requirements of the LSC contract and the learners' individual aims and objectives.
* Ability to listen and convey information and instructions to learners effectively, including those with communication difficulties.
* Ability to explain and promote the organisation's programmes to employers, young people and parents.
* Skills and understanding necessary for the preparation and completion of training plans, reviews, records, forms, basic reports, correspondence and/or other similar documentation.
It is extremely desirable for candidates to posses the following:
* Relevant Teaching/Training qualifications
* Key Skills Qualifications or knowledge.
* Level 3 qualification in Numeracy and Literacy
* Level 2 IT qualification
* Experience or knowledge of Entry 2 Employment or other work based learning programmes.
* Skills and experience of liaising with staff and representatives of other organisations associated with the training programmes.
* Knowledge of the delivery and assessment of the Key Skills.
* Knowledge of personal and vocational skills and qualities required for learners to sustain full time employment.
* General knowledge of appropriate support agencies for learners with behavioural/learning needs and those likely to work as a partnership.
